Thank You Patrick for your extensive research work in this most recent article , Clearly the evidence that the Earth's climate is heating up is undeniable . Just to focus in on the oceans as this topic is multifaceted .Researchers have documented that Ocean is becoming more acidic because of Human activities . . Locally in Puget Sound (Salish Sea ) sea water has become unfriendly that Oyster spat has difficult time growing tiny shells in the acidic water . Some Oyster farmers have resorted to sending seed to Hawaii to grow until they can survive in the interior sound . Melting Permafrost and methane Hydrates melting in the Arctic ocean , leaking methane from Fracked Oil wells in the Bakken Shale ND and the Permian Basin West Texas all contribute to the warming atmosphere . The US Army and Navy one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas are clearly a major contributor . WE are in serious trouble with the current administration with destructive policies and corporate plants in in every federal agency Mid terms may immobilize Trump in the House . Mass movements are necessary and a complete turnaround in policy directives with the 2029 as you suggest . A recent Stanford study by Erik Sperling suggests we may may be making conditions for the next Permian die-off :“The bad news is, we are on track for Permian-Triassic levels of warming in worst-case scenario projections,” said Sperling. Temperatures increased 8-12° Celsius over thousands of years to cause the Great Dying, and today, over just 100-200 years, temperatures are projected to be 1.5-4° Celsius warmer than pre-industrial times by 2100. “But the good news is, we’re still at the point where we can change things and do something about it.”

Thank you for the thoughtful and hopeful essay. I appreciate your mention of worker cooperatives. I'm a retired 18yr member of one and there is no other institution in our society that demonstrates the daily practice of democracy like worker-co-ops. In 1999 a short doc was made of three SF Bay worker cooperatives. To those unfamiliar with worker co-ops they will be impressed by the member's comments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xMC5FjG6k0

And for further info on worker cooperatives please see GEO.coop newsletter. https://geo.coop/
