Way to go, Patrick! There's so much to unravel, and to rebuild. I'm currently building the BC Climate Action Network, and completing my book on The Economics of Kindness: A Ten-Year Transition to a Green Cooperative Economy. And writing an essay set 200 years in the future, in Hawai'i!

Canadian poet George Bowering calls those in Estados Unidos "USAmericans." Perhaps you find this a welcome clarification. Good luck Patrick.

That is helpful. Will consider adoption.

Glad you like it. I adopted it, giving GB credit, ten or so years ago and he's right. It's always helpful to get a non-US perspective. Also Robert Bringhurst's Haida translations, many of which involve Raven, may be of use, along with Dominick DellaSalla's climate work with GEOS Institute in Ashland, OR. https://paulenelson.com/2013/01/22/dominic-dellasala-on-temperate-and-boreal-rainforests-interview/ and https://paulenelson.com/2015/10/21/george-bowering-nellie-grey/ for Bowering. Good luck Patrick.

Know Dominick and have worked with him on forest carbon issues. He is spot on., busting a lot of the mythology that forest thinning works to combat wildfires. Have to check out Bringhurst.

Aloha e Patrick! What a great title for this journal, I am psyched about this project and just subscribed to continue getting updates. I would love to talk story with you sometime as someone working on my PhD in Indigenous Politics and Futures studies you definitely have my interest. Until soon.

Ke aloha,

Cody Lestelle

Please share story ideas with me. The indigenous peoples of the world are in a crucial leadership position in the struggles we face. For example, they play a key role in efforts to save salmon runs along the North Pacific regions of North America. And prominently In fights against fossil fuel infrastructure in many places. Of course Standing Rock. And Today on line 3 in Minnesota, as my fellow substacker Emily Atkin is covering in her HEATED journal. Indeed, the indigenous are key to politics and the future. If you want to write me with ideas, I’m at cascadia2012@gmail.com.
