Think of writing more as joy and pursuit of truth.
I threw in the towel several years ago and live as a nomad, the "place" is wherever I happen to be, but I do seem to gravitate to the Salish Sea for summer and the Sonoran desert for winter, with mountain and forest travel in between.
But throwing in the towel is not surrender - I still keep an intellectual oar in the water and sometimes write to hold the bastards accountable in the only "place" I really have a working knowledge of, what a dear professor of mine once called "mapping decision space" in NJ environmental circles. A policy cartographer!
I came from your Williams piece looking for the framing of future activity beyond Williams's time when we didn’t have the internet to work with to get us into new configurations. But coming here I see you are just talking about what you will deal with and not what you are doing.
If I read you right, you’d like seeing what I am already dealing with about how we-the-people could become a force in the face of legislators serving funders over constituents. Anyone interested in what you’re going to say likely would be interested in what I’m already saying -- uniquely, not finding anyone dealing with what we can do now that can massively matter to a world where we are so good at destruction and so interlinked as one humanity that it's not only climate change that could devastate us. Have a look at my Substack and see if you and I and your readers could have some alliance in creating the system change we need: https://suzannetaylor.substack.com
Power protecting wealth and property has spawned the twin Damocles swords of climate heating and nuclear weapons, metastatic cancers in the US and global economies. That power owns federal decision making, promoting the fossil fuel economy and the development and deployment of a civilization-threatening nuclear arms race. We need democratically elected decision-makers to represent the clear majority of Americans who want a livable planet without the constant threat of near instant annihilation. We need your voice to counter the cacophonous false news of an aroused Confederacy. May your reframed writing focus us for collective action to change our national priorities.
Looking forward to your review of Wm A. Williams. I went to UW Madison and benefited so much form the excellent history program that he had established.
We will have to talk again for the my podcast some time once I get a chance to catch up on some of your latest posts and new posts you will be coming out with. Solidarity and keep up the struggle!
Love this new direction and further refinement. Excited to see where you take it.

Keep up the good work. I know it can be frustrating. The world needs voices like yours, however.
