They were not, yet today this website has invented a new term to describe the effects of global warming that is surely related to the lack of rain and increase in drought and famine. I think this claim is an exaggeration because its dire effects are not being caused deliberately, unlike the mass slaughter of certain races or religions of peoples in past years.
