I wonder what having one community means when the whole world is falling down around you. I can see having survival communities. And networks. But somehow I think we must address the whole with broad-based people’s movements. I also recall the ill feelings the Rajneeshees created when they moved in on Antelope. They were upscale new agers moving in on a relatively poor rural community. It was rural gentrification. It seems if we cluster anywhere, it must be in a place that already reflects our values, and which does not push the old inhabitants out.
Dunno if I’d hold out the Rajneeshies as a model. I lived through that time in Oregon. It did not turn out well.
