You make some good points. I think that regions are good building blocks for the future organization of North America. But, also, I think you're overly optismistic. You write, "We also must expect the rightist regime to fail."
This and other parts of the piece frame the fall of authoritarianism as being inevitable. But if you look at history, there is nothing inevitable about stopping fascistic governments. In the U.S. South, apartheid governments lasted for almost a century.
Also, I think your analysis neglects capitalism and liberalism (the sanctification of property rights), which are the engine of right-wing politics. Capitalism has been going strong for centuries. Socialist critiques have been deeply repressed in the U.S. for generations, but the focus on the economics needs to be reemphized. Without challenging capitalism, you won't be able to stop the rest of the program. Check out the economist Richard Wolff. It will take concerted organization and political engagement from large parts of the population to ensure that the worst doesn't come to pass.
